What you should know before constructing sandstone paving
Before you actually start the work it is best to design a layout. This can be done by simply laying out the pavers on the ground and making a design which appeals to you. Always start with the border
If you want to make sure that your pavement is study endurable you should start by paving the border first. The stone should be laid tightly in place around the border of the layout. Once it is completed then only should you move towards the center. This way you can cover the whole layout.
Use slightly dry cement for forming the base
The best mixture should comprise of cement and no more than two thirds of water. It should be used as a base for the sandstone paving. Experts says that the cement which is a little dry, develops better bonding with the sandstone when compared with using the usual cement mixture.
Allow time for the cement and the paving to dry completely
The cement and sand stone paving should be left to dry over night or for at least 14 to 16 hours. This would allow the bond to become more form and stronger and therefore result in a long lasting pavement.

The cement mixture should be of the same proportion which was used for the previous process. This can be used as grout. The grout should be pressed firmly into the ground.
